Question: Why does the data obtained from the Preliminary Search vary from the data obtained in the member's area?

Answer: The preliminary search accesses people databases simply to verify that the person exists in the United States. This information is provided as reference material only. Search results obtained from the Preliminary Search may not match the search results obtained in the member's area based on the same search parameters. You will be charged for any Direct search, regardless of whether your search yields any reports or records, and regardless of whether any such report or record contains incorrect information or no information at all.

Question: I know that the person I am inquiring about has a criminal record, so why is your search not returning any criminal search related data?

Answer: There may be multiple reasons why criminal data is extracted or missing from a criminal/background report.

  • You may be searching for criminal data that does not permit public access to criminal records.

  • The criminal act was committed in a state other than the one searched.

  • The search subject's criminal record has been expunged and is no longer available.

  • The search subject may have used an alias with a different DOB at the time of criminal conviction.

  • The search subject was never convicted of a crime.

  • The subject's criminal conviction is very recent and has not yet been entered into our database.
